Why you need vitamin A

To maintain good health habits, you should be consuming the proper doses of vitamin A on a daily basis. Unfortunately, most people do not get the necessary amounts of vitamin A in there diet. This is a bad thing because a deficiency in vitamin A can result in long term health problems. While rickets are related to a deficiency in vitamin D, a vitamin A deficiency is linked to night vision, not being able to adapt your eyes to the darkness. If you have difficult adjusting your eyes in the dark, that’s the first sign that you have a vitamin A deficiency.  
 
vitamin A is important to maintain healthy skin, strong bones, and a healthy immune system. It also plays a role in producing white blood cells, which in turn, helps to fight off germs and viruses. eating foods that are rich in beta carotene that are found mainly in organ meats but are also in fruits and vegetables can help fight off heart disease and certain types of cancer. 
 
beta carotene from eating one large carrot converts into one thousand micrograms of vitamin A into the body. You should be eating any where from five to nine fruits and vegetables every day to help fight off diseases and to maintain a healthy body. If you consume a large amount of colorful fruits and vegetables, it can help fight against the possibilities of lung cancer.
 
Sources of vitamin A
Because animals and animal products are easily absorbed into the body is the number one reason why it’s a good source of vitamin A.  Plants are also considered a good source, but cannot be absorbed into the body; therefore, the body would not function properly. 
 
Liver, skim milk, cheese, and eggs are also a good source of this vitamin.
We know that carrots are a high source of vitamin A, but other vegetables include kale, apricots with the skin, vegetable soup, peaches, peppers, peas, and oatmeal.
